CLASSIC MATERIALS AND METHODS: AN HOMAGE TO OLD NEW YORK
211 Elizabeth Street embraces the architectural vernacular of its historic New York neighborhood-and stands out for its use of traditional materials, handcrafted details and classic design. These are real homes made from real materials in one of New York's last remaining authentic neighborhoods. The celebrated designer architects Roman & Williams have created 15 bespoke homes in an elegant 7 story red brick building on the corner of Elizabeth and Prince streets.

Remaining faithful to the neighborhood's historic materials and scale, the firm designed 211 Elizabeth to blend seamlessly with its surroundings. This deft contextualism is achieved with multiple Roman & Williams flourishes including 7 foot-high black wood windows. "We set the windows back 8 inches and surrounded them with serrated brick," explains Roman & Williams partner, Stephen Alesch. "This echoes the classic architecture of the surrounding homes and also creates a beautiful play of light and shadows inside."
